Your AMJ Client Portal and Your Citizen Account Are Not the Same Thing

If you have ever been confused about whether to log in at the AMJ portal or your citizen account on the AMJ website — you are not alone. These are two completely separate systems, created for two completely different purposes, and the difference between them matters.

This article explains what each one is, who has access to it, and exactly what to do if you ever need help with either.

Think of It This Way

Imagine the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice as a building. The client portal is the secure waiting room inside — it is where your case lives during the review and application process.

The AMJ is the one who unlocks the door for you, and if you ever lose your key, you contact the AMJ to get back in.

Your citizen account on the AMJ website is different. That is your permanent access to the building as a recognized citizen.

You manage it yourself — you chose your password, and if you ever forget it, you can reset it on your own, just like any other account you have online.

Same building. Two very different rooms. Two very different sets of rules.

The AMJ Client Portal: Built for the Process

What It Is

The AMJ client portal is a secure case management system provided by the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice. It is where your application lives — your submitted forms, your uploaded documents, official communications from the AMJ, and any status updates related to your case.

Who Has Access

Anyone who initiates a service with the AMJ receives access to a client portal. This includes individuals going through the Tribal Citizenship Procedure, the ARK Citizenship Procedure, or any other formal AMJ process. You do not need to be an approved citizen to have a client portal — you receive access when your service begins.

How You Get In

The AMJ activates your portal access. Your login details — including the portal link and your custom password — are sent to you in the Contract Signed Confirmation email you receive at the start of your process.

They are also included in subsequent AMJ communications. Keep this information stored securely.

Password Help

Because your client portal is activated and managed by the AMJ, you cannot reset your own portal password.

If you are locked out or need help accessing your portal, you must contact the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice directly.

Do not attempt to create a new account or submit a new application to regain access.

Need help with your client portal?

Contact the AMJ at in**@*************************ce.org and include your full name and case reference if available.

Your AMJ Citizen Account: Built for Citizens

What It Is

Your AMJ citizen account is your personal account on the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice website. It is separate from your client portal and serves a different purpose — it is your direct access to citizen-facing resources, services, and tools available through the AMJ website.

Who Has Access

Your AMJ citizen account is available exclusively to full Xi-Amaru Republic citizens — individuals who have completed the Citizenship Procedure and received their official citizenship documents, including their Citizenship Certificate, Member ID, and Tax Exempt ID. Nationals with temporary status are not eligible for a citizen account.

How You Get It

Once you have received your citizenship documents, you activate your account by completing the citizen account activation form on the AMJ website. You will need your Member ID number, Tax Exempt ID number, your citizenship documents, and a current photo. If you have never filed with the AMJ Records Department, a one-time $15.00 filing fee applies.

Password Help

Your citizen account on the AMJ website works like most online accounts you are already familiar with. If you forget your password, you can reset it yourself directly from the login page — no need to contact the AMJ for standard password recovery.

Ready to activate your citizen account?

Visit the citizen account activation form to get started. You will need your citizenship documents, Member ID number, and Tax Exempt ID number.

Common Questions

I have a client portal. Does that mean I am a citizen?

Not necessarily. A client portal is issued to anyone who initiates a service with the AMJ — including people who are still going through the eligibility or citizenship process. Citizenship is granted only after completing the full Citizenship Procedure and receiving your official documents from the AMJ.

I completed my citizenship procedure. Do I still use my client portal?

Your client portal remains accessible and contains the records of your completed case. However, once you have received your citizenship documents, your next step is to activate your citizen account on the AMJ website. Going forward, your citizen account is your primary point of access to AMJ citizen services.

I cannot remember which login I am trying to access. How do I tell them apart?

Your client portal is located at portal.aboriginalministryofjustice.org. Your citizen account login is on the main AMJ website at aboriginalministryofjustice.org. If you are unsure which one you need, start with your client portal during an active process, and your citizen account once you are a full citizen.

I never received my client portal login details. What should I do?

Your portal login details are sent in the Contract Signed Confirmation email at the start of your service. Check your spam or promotions folder first. If you still cannot locate the email, contact the AMJ at in**@*************************ce.org with your full name and the service you initiated.

Can I have both a client portal and a citizen account at the same time?

Yes. If you are a full citizen, you will have both. Your client portal contains your case history, and your citizen account gives you ongoing access to the AMJ website as a citizen. They operate independently of each other.
