Citizen Account Activation — Frequently Asked Questions

If you have received your account activation confirmation but are running into questions or trouble along the way, this article is for you.

Below are the most common questions we receive about the account activation process on the AMJ website.

If your question is not answered here, contact us directly at in**@*************************ce.org and our team will assist you.

ABOUT THE ACTIVATION PROCESS

I received my confirmation. What do I do now?

Your confirmation means your activation request has been reviewed and approved. You will receive a separate email from our team containing your Account Activation Code and the link to the account registration page on the AMJ website.

Follow that link, enter your code when prompted, and complete the registration form to finish creating your account.

What is the Account Activation Code?

Your Account Activation Code is a unique code sent to you by our team after your request is approved. It is required to access the account registration page on the AMJ website.

You must enter it exactly as shown in your activation email, including the space between the two parts of the code.

I submitted the activation form. Is there another form to fill out?

Yes. The form you completed at aboriginalministryofjustice.org/citizen-account-activation was a request for approval. Once that request is reviewed and your activation code is issued, you will use that code to access a second form where you complete the actual account registration. That second step is what creates your account on the AMJ website.

How long does the review take after I submit my activation request?

Our team reviews activation requests within 1 to 10 business days. You will receive an email once your review is complete.

ACTIVATION CODE ISSUES

My activation code is not being accepted. What should I do?

First, make sure you are entering the code exactly as it appears in your activation email, including the space between the Member ID and the expiration date.

The code is case-sensitive and must be entered precisely. If the code still does not work, it may have expired. Contact us at in**@*************************ce.org and we will issue a new code.

My activation code has expired. Can I get a new one?

Yes. Activation codes are valid for a limited time. If yours has expired before you were able to complete registration, contact us at in**@*************************ce.org with your name and Member ID number and we will issue a replacement code.

I never received my activation code. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk mail folder first. If the email is not there, contact us at in**@*************************ce.org with your name and Member ID number. Our team will verify your record and resend the code.

LOGIN AND PASSWORD ISSUES

My email address is not being recognized for password reset.

This is expected if your account registration has not yet been completed. Your email address is not added to the AMJ website system until after you finish the account registration form. Once your account is created, your email will be recognized for login and password recovery.

If you have already completed registration and your email is still not being recognized, contact us at in**@*************************ce.org.

I cannot remember the password I created for my AMJ website account.

If your account has already been created, you can reset your password directly on the AMJ website login page. Your AMJ website account password is separate from your AMJ client portal password. Make sure you are resetting the password for the correct system.

If you need further help, contact us at in**@*************************ce.org.

I am trying to log in but I keep getting an error. What do I do?

Confirm that you are logging in at aboriginalministryofjustice.org/account and not the AMJ client portal. These are two different systems. If you are on the correct page and still cannot log in, contact us at in**@*************************ce.org and include a description of the error you are seeing.

ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS

I have national status. Can I activate a citizen account?

Not yet. Account activation is available exclusively to individuals who have completed the full Citizenship Procedure and received their official citizenship documents. Nationals with temporary national status are not yet eligible. Visit aboriginalministryofjustice.org/citizenship-pathway to learn more about completing your citizenship.

I completed my citizenship a long time ago but never activated an account. Am I still eligible?

Yes. There is no deadline on eligibility for citizens who have received their documents. However, if you previously received an activation code, it may have expired. Contact us at in**@*************************ce.org to get the process started.
